Raspberries pests

Uses herbicides/insecticides pre- or post-emergence control of broadleaf weeds in cereals, maize, lucerne, clover, trefoil, grass leys, potatoes, peas, onions, garlics, peas, leeks, soya beans, orchards, groundnuts, strawberries, vineyards and other crops for control of strawberry runners and raspberry suckers and overwintering forms of insect pests on fruit trees also used as a desiccant for leguminous seed crops destruction of potato haulms as a pre-harvest hop defoliant, etc. 

If Japanese beetles are a consistent problem in your area, avoid planting raspberry cultivars particularly attractive to these pests. Cultivars to avoid include Fall Gold , Festival , Heritage, Latham , Newburgh , Reveille , Ruby , and Skeena . In the future, gardeners may be able to buy parasitic nematodes that can be applied to the soil to control the grub stage of this pest. 

Hoeing gently round the canes in winter helps to expose overwintering pests, such as the raspberry beetle, so that birds can get at them.
