Numerous studies have been undertaken to elucidate the secondary structure of soluble elastin. These studies have been performed on elastin, elastin solubilized by oxalic acid (a-elastin) or potassium hydroxide (/, -elastin). synthetic polypeptide models of elastin, and tropoelastin.
