Quick-connect fitting

In this project we used Swagelok type connectors for the most part, but these could be replaced by quick connect fittings. This would be desirable for the ease of obtaining quick leak-free connections without the bother of tightening nuts and testing. However, quick connect fittings are more expensive. [Pg.72]

On one end of the hose, put a Swagelok quick-connect stem with a female NPT end that fits onto the hose. I prefer to use the DESO (double shut off valve) type stem rather than the SESO (single shut off valve) as it retains the hydrogen in the line and does not admit air contaminant back into the line connected to the regulator. [Pg.324]

This DESO stem fits on to the Swagelok quick-connect DESO body on the hydride bottle. Depending on the regulator you choose, the Ys" NPT male end of the hose will either fit into the port on the regulator, or the regulator will have a 34" NPT female outlet. If it has a 34" NPT outlet, use a Vs" female x 34" male adapter to connect to the regulator. [Pg.325]

Positive locking quick connections of the Kamlok type should be used on the hose. Brass, bronze, or stainless steel are satisfactory. Aluminum piping and fittings are not recommended for halogenated solvent service. [Pg.43]

The adaptor is equipped with a female quick disconnect fitting which is the piece that makes the connection to the flex hose. [Pg.503]

Answer by author The system could very well be converted to a unit totally separated from the suit and connected by two ducts with quick-disconnect fittings. As the system is designed for recirculating of suit air, two ducts must be provided, one for supply and one for return. [Pg.202]

A2.2 Pressure Gage—The pressure measuring system shall be a Bourdon type spring gage as described in A 1.2 or a suitable pressure transducer and digital readout. The pressure measuring system shall be remotely mounted from the vapor pressure apparatus and terminations provided for use of a quick connection type fitting. [Pg.119]

The function of the trap is to condense the hexane from the n-butyl-lithium solution. The checkers used a 1-L three-necked flask fitted with a short delivery tube (a quick fit air bleed tube was used), stopper, and rubber tubing connection. The submitters used a water aspirator and a 1-L filter flask with a drying tower between. [Pg.61]

Quick-release couplings The coupling shall be of the type having self-sealing valves in both the plug and the body with a flexible tube fitted to the downstream connection, which shall be the male plug section. A manual valve shall be fitted immediately upstream of the coupling. [Pg.290]
