Quasibinary section

The series provides consistent phase diagram deseriptions for individual ternary systems. The representation of the equihbria of ternary systems as a function of temperature results in spaeial diagrams whose sections and projections arc generally published in the literature. Phase equilibria are deseribed in terms of hquidus, soUdus and solvus projections, isothermal and quasibinary sections data on invariant equilibria are generally given in the form of tables. [Pg.12]

Structure data are summarized in Table 2. No ternary phase has been reported in the Cr-Fe-Zr system. However binary Laves phases show extended solubihty ranges along the ZrFc2-ZrCr2 quasibinary section. The variation of the lattice parameters with composition along the section are reported in Fig. 1 according to [1970Kan]. [Pg.412]

In strictly binary systems, the precipitation threshold matches the critical temperature aiul the CPC matches the binodal (the phase coexistence curve) (Francis, 1963). The temaiy systems Li-N-Cl, Li-N-Br, and Li-N-1 show several ternary fast ion condirctors along the quasibinary sections Li3N-lithium haUde. The Gibbs energies of formation were determined by electrochemical decomposition of the electrolyte and forming the eqrrihbrirrm electrode phases in situ. The decomposition voltages were then used to calculate the thermodynamically most favorable phase relations. [Pg.310]
