Push sticks are to be provided and used with circular saws. 

Every detachable cutter on a vertical spindle moulding machine shall be of the correct thickness for the cutter block or spindle and securely mounted to it. False fences, jigs, holders, backstops, spikes and push sticks shall be provided and unless a jig or holder is provided the cutting of the material must commence at the end of a surface. 

Push sticks/blocks and jigs allow employees to keep their hands at a safe location when guiding wood or other materials during joiner and shaper operations. 

By the nature of the machines on which they are most frequently used, there will still be some access to the dangerous parts, so these machines must only be used by suitably trained operators. Thus, even in its seemingly solid state, the rubber balloon s polymer chains are sufficiently mobile to allow it to heal itself.
