Purging duty

Based on dryer cost alone, indirect-heat dryers are more expensive to build and install than direct-heat dryers designed for the same duty. As environmental concerns and resulting restrictions on process emissions increase, however, indirect-heat dryers are more attractive because they employ purge gas only to remove vapor and not to transport heat as well. Dust and vapor recovery systems for indirect-heat dryers are smaller and less cosdy to supply heat for drying, gas throughput in direct-heat dryers is 3—10 kg/kg of water evaporated indirect-heat dryers require only 1—1.5 kg/kg of vapor removed. System costs vary directly with size, so whereas more money may be spent for the dryer, much more is saved in recovery costs. Wet scmbbers ate employed for dust recovery on indirect-heat dryers because dryer exit gas usually is close to saturation. Where dry systems are employed, all external surfaces must be insulated and traced to prevent vapor condensation inside.

The following manipulated variables are available toluene feed (Fi), hydrogen feed (F2), gas recycle (Fr), purge (Fp) and furnace duty (q h). Furnace duty may be used to control the reactor inlet temperature. The setpoint of this control loop may be coupled, in a cascade manner, with other variable from the previous list.

After six months and one day, purge and destroy your old records of duty status and supporting documents (unless the supporting documents need to be retained for other reasons,i.e. business or tax purposes). Remember, as with your DQ files ... 

Binge and purge Understand, if you have old records of duty status on file that are 12, 18, 24 months old, they can be inspected for violation. 

After 6 months, records of duty status and all supporting documents shall be purged and destroyed. The Company s Safety Department shall be responsible for purging all old records. 

Retain records of duty status and all supporting documentation for only as long as required. After six months of retention, purge and destroy old records of duty status along with all supporting docmnents. 

Motor-driven timers provide acceptable performance for SIF applications, such as burner purge timing. Most motor-driven timers require a locking device or appropriate modification to eliminate tampering with critical settings. Motor-driven timers are limited in timing resolution and the ability to handle high duty cycles.
