Pump fluid change cleaning

Changing the pump fluid The interior section will be extracted from the pump and the contaminated pump fluid poured out. The interior section and the pump body are then cleaned with pure petroleum ether (naphtha). The interior section and pump body of mercury pumps should have been cleaned beforehand with a clean brush use a bottle brush for the nozzle bores. Ensure that all the nozzle orifices are properly cleaned. It is advantageous to evaporate all solvent residues in a drying kiln. Then the inside section is inserted once again and the fresh pump fluid is installed through the forevacuum port. It is necessary to ensure that the upper nozzle cover is not moistened with pump fluid Do not install too much pump fluid ... [Pg.144]

Piston pump Data-driven process. Viscosity changes do not affect flow rate consistency at higher speeds capable of larger dot sizes Complex cleaning procedures sensitive to air in fluid... [Pg.211]

Polymer experiments were run in the following manner. The clean core was saturated with 2-percent NaCl solution and the steady-state pressure distribution was measured at a constant injection rate. Then, a known volume of polymer solution was injected into the core at the same rate. The polymer slug was followed by several pore volumes of 2-percent NaCl solution. Flow was interrupted at each change of fluid while the pump and flowlines were flushed. Injection of 2-percent NaCl continued until polymer was not detectable in the effluent. All effluent was collected in test tubes using the fraction collector. Samples containing polyacrylamide were analyzed for polymer concentration. [Pg.165]
