Providencia spp

Gentamidn Ci and Cia 2 -/V-Acetyl derivatives of the respective substrates Providencia spp. [Pg.188]

Class C Serine p-lactamases AmpC enzymes of coti, Shigella spp., Enterobacterspp., C. freundii, M. morganii, Providencia spp. and Serratia spp. cephalos-porinases with wide spectrum of activity CMY, LAT, BIL, MOX, ACC, FOX and DHA types. All genes are ampC genes that have been mobilized by transfer to plasmid DNA. [Pg.771]

Other gram-negative organisms, such as Pseudomonas spp., have been noted to cause IE, especially in IVDUs and patients with prosthetic valves. Additionally, IE caused by Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli, Citrobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Serratia marcescens, Proteus spp. and Providencia spp. also has been reported.1... [Pg.1095]

Providencia spp. 1 Prof. A. N. Chakrabarty, Calcutta University, College of Medicine, Calcutta... [Pg.78]

Chakrabarty et al. (1989) selected several antihistamines for detection of antibacterial action [15]. According to them, promethazine was the most powerful and significant antimicrobial. The authors observed that in staphylococci, shigellae, and vibrios the MIC of promethazine varied between 100 and 200 xg/ml. Although one strain of Escherichia coli was sensitive at 50 xg/ml, the others were resistant. With respect to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, and Providencia spp., the MIC of promethazine was always >200 pg/ml (Table 7). [Pg.86]

Both 6-yS-bromopenicillanic acid (24) and 6-y5-iodopenicillanic acid (25) were as potent as clavulanic acid and inhibited the same range of /S-lactamase enzymes Table 6.7) [18, 43, 66], They acted synergistically with ampicillin and cefazolin to inhibit yS-lactamase containing S. aureus, those members of the Enterobacteriaceae which contain plasmid yS-lactamases such as the TEM enzyme, and a Klebsiella spp. which contains a chromosomal yS-lactamase. They did not however inhibit most of the yff-lactamases of organisms such as Enterobacter spp. Providencia spp., P. aeruginosa, or Serratia spp. Table 6.8) [66]. [Pg.320]

Shigella, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp. 14, Providencia spp. 1, and Vibrio cholerae 865. [Pg.71]

MIC 50-400 pg/ml) or resistant (800 or >800 ig/ml) to the drug. Out of 17 strains of Shigella spp., seven stopped growing at 25 pg/ml, two at 50 pg/ml, five strains at 400 pg/ml and the remaining three strains at 800 pg/ml. For the vibrios, the MIC of prochloperazine ranged from 25 to 200 pg/ml for most of the strains. Certain enterobacteria like Proteus, Providencia, Citrobac-ter, Bordetella, and Arizona were less sensitive to prochlorperazine (MIC 400-800 pg/ml), while Hafnia and Pasteurella were more sensitive (Table 19). [Pg.98]
