List everything you re going to do on little slips of paper which you then organize into proper sequence. 

You discover that you organize and then reorganize the sequence again and again as more and more ideas come to you. 

The time spent that way usually more than pays for itself in time saved... and prevents you from doing fidgety things that create problems later on.

The introduction to the CPM section of this chapter noted that project managers typically need answers to four schedule questions as they proceed through the planning, execution, and closing phases of a project. The CPM helps to answer those... 

The initial plan of action must also address a proposed overall project execution strategy in order to promote creative thinking as early as possible. If the objectives set by the project sponsor are not realistic, it is the responsibility of the Project Manager to bring up the realities of life and, working closely with the Venture Manager, develop achievable goals. 

Expanded the treatment of project management from one chapter to two (Chapters 5 and 6) with additions including a more detailed presentation of the project planning-execution-closing process and discussions of the Critical Path Method and scope creep prevention and resolution.
