Profiler Plus

A temperature profile plus a vapor-rate profile through the column must be assumed to start the procedure. These variables are referred to as tear variables and must be iterated on until convergence is achieved in which their values no longer change from iteration to iteration and all equations are satisfied to an acceptable degree of tolerance. Each iteration down and then up through the column is referred to as a column iteration. A set of assumed values of the tear variables consistent with the specifications, plus the component K values at the assumed temperatures, is as follows, using assumed end and middle temperatures and K values from Fig. 13-14. ... [Pg.1278]

In the substrate standard method the absorption effect is determined using the transmittance ratio (T =1. /I ), The determination of the transmittance involves additional measurements, i.e., step scanning over the silver profile, to obtain I. and I , IA is measured for each filter sample and if can be obtained several ways as discussed below, gThese additional measurements can be performed very quickly compared to the more lengthy measurements of the internal standard because the silver peak is quite intense, A step scan of the silver diffraction profile plus background counting time can be accomplished in about two minutes with better than 1% precision,... [Pg.56]

The structure factors are related to the electron density distribution of the unit cell in the stacking direction. A necessary condition for the analysis of such a system is the existence of centrosymmetric units this can either originate from centro-symmetrical membranes, in which case the unit cell consists of the single membrane electron density profile plus two halves of the intermembrane water space alternatively, a centrosymmetrical unit cell may arise from flattened vesicles so that each pair of adjacent membranes is arranged in mutual mirror-symmetry (Fig. 2). [Pg.182]

A description of the manufacturing facility, including a company profile plus a description of the premises, equipment, personnel and standard operating procedures relating to manufacture and the quality system. This must lodged with the Medicines Control Council. [Pg.614]

A widely used alternative method for achieving this is to sweep the spectral source frequency through a range that includes the sample absorption profile, but is sufficiently large for this signal to vanish at the extremities. The data obtained are then fitted to the expected spectral profile plus a background. Although a similar technique has been used successfully by other workers we have found... [Pg.107]

FIGURE 25.9 A comparison of (a) a mixed DNA profile (two females and one male contributor) followed by (b) the Y-STR profile of the same sample. The sample was collected with a single surface swab (moistened with DI water) from a knife handle (homicide case). Amplification was performed using PowerPlex Y with 1.2 ng and Profiler Plus with 0.8 ng of template DNA. The male component DNA obtained from the knife handle and the suspect has the same Y-haplotype therefore, the suspect could not be eliminated as the source of the male DNA in the mixture. The results also indicate the presence of only one male contributor in the DNA extract. It should be noted that all of the suspect s male relatives from his paternal lineage would also have the same Y-haplotype. There are 354 fuel pins in the core and each fuel pin has its own annular coolant channel. Taking into account the fuel pin diameter, the gap between fuel and clad, the clad thickness, and coolant channel thickness, the coolant annulus has an outer and inner radius of 1.1575 cm and 0.8885 cm respectively. The core fueled region is 0.664 m tall. The 354 fuel channels are modeled as six separate flow paths designed to represent radial variation in power although not utilized, since radial power variation has not been calculated. The coolant channel in contact with the fueled portion of the pin is represented with 10 equal height volumes to adequately model axial power profiles (plus space in the top volume for fission gas plenum). [Pg.699]
