Profile of safety

Dennis C et al, (2001a). Railway Safety. Profile of safety risk on Railtrack controlled infrastructure. SP-RSK-3.1.3.11 Issue 1 January 2001... [Pg.84]

One of the most effective methods of establishing a safety culture is to consult with employees over safety-related matters, and be seen to act on their suggestions, where reasonably practicable. This is the main difference between consulting with employees and merely informing them as required by current legislation. This statutory consultation raises the profile of safety among the workforce and ensures that the management team is seen to be committed to the partnership approach to safety. [Pg.46]

An increase in the profile of safety, particularly i.t.o. public perception. [Pg.208]

Pha.rma.ceutica.1 Purity. A safety profile of a generic dmg can differ from that of the brand-name product because different impurities may be present in each of the dmgs (154). Impurities can arise out of the manufacturing processes and may be responsible for adverse interactions that can occur. Eor example, serious adverse reactions (LyeU syndrome) were observed upon the use of isoxicam in 1985. These seemed to have resulted from trace elements of a manufacturing by-product that was within the manufacturing quaUty control specifications. [Pg.250]

MSDS Material Safety Data Sheet - a document that provides pertinent information and a profile of a particular hazardous substance or mixture. An MSDS is normally developed by the manufacturer or formulator of the hazardous substance or mixture. The MSDS is required to be made available to employees and operators whenever there is the likelihood of the hazardous substance or mixture being introduced into the workplace. Some manufacturers prepare MSDS for products that are not considered to be hazardous to show that the product or substance is not hazardous. [Pg.619]

Many clinical studies have been performed on human subjects to assess the effect of soy isoflavones on chronic disease risk factors with no ill-effects (see Section 10.4). The safety profile of isoflavones is, however, difficult to establish because of the limited sample sizes and short periods of investigation of such studies. At present the upper tested limits are ... [Pg.208]

HRT, but they are less efficacious than hormonal therapies. Alternative treatments should be chosen based on the efficacy and safety profile of the treatment and the patient s past medical history and current medications. [Pg.768]

The safety of rifaximin, 200 mg 3 times daily, was evaluated more recently in 320 patients from two placebo-controlled clinical trials [34], All the adverse events for either rifaximin or placebo that occurred at a frequency > 2% are shown in table 14. With the exception of flatulence, which occurred significantly (p = 0.0071) less frequently after drug treatment, the adverse event profile of rifaximin overlapped that of placebo. [Pg.59]

Yet just as all people are not alike, neither are all food crises alike. They can vary in their familiarity, severity, proximity, consequence, and the extent to which they can be avoided. This review covers a wide range of crises from bacteria contamination, to product tampering, to fears related to irradiation and biotechnology. Different types of crises will be evaluated differently by different groups of consumers. What has been done in this review is to focus on worst-case scenarios involving initial responses to food safety issues. These will provide the most clear and illustrative profiles of consumer response. Less extreme scenarios will elicit less extreme responses. [Pg.105]
