The mechanism of massive proteinuria is obviously different in each primary glomerulonephritis (Cl).

The primary goal of therapy for impetigo is resolution of infection. A secondary goal is prevention of glomerulonephritis (although extremely rare) secondary to group A Streptococcus (GAS). 

A number of studies in humans show that PUFAs can generate significant immunomodulatory effects. Generally, these studies have utilized considerably lower amounts of fish oil to treat subjects than found in most animal studies. Numerous clinical trials have examined the effects of fish oil on rheumatoid arthritis and many have reported statistically significant benefits such as decreased morning stiffness and numbers of tender joints [57]. Several other studies have reported that PUFAs can provide therapeutic benefits for patients with IgA nephropathy, the most common primary human glomerulonephritis... 

Mesangiocapillary glomerulonephritis can occur as a complication of many diseases, such as SEE or as a primary disease. Treatment of the primary disease with steroids, immunosuppres-sives and antiplatelet agents have been attempted with unimpressive results. 

Signs and symptoms of gold toxicity, the primary serious reaction, include decreased Hgb level, decreased granulocyte count (less than 150,000/mm ), proteinuria, hematuria, stomatitis, blood dyscrasias (anemia, leukopenia WBC count less than 4000/mm, thrombocytopenia, and eosinophilia), glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and cholestatic jaundice. 

Of 63 adults with advanced renal insufficiency, those with biopsy-proven primary proliferative glomerulonephritis and those whose clinical presentation was consistent with glomerulonephritis had significantly greater exposure to organic solvents than patients with a variety of other renal diseases (37).

In a retrospective case control study, however, examining both patients with inflammatory (IgA glomerulonephritis) and non-inflammatory (ADPKD) primary renal disease, Orth et al. [38] found an increased odds ratio of progression to end stage renal disease in patients with 5-15 pack years [odds ratio 3.5 (1.3-9.6)] and in patients with > 15 pack years [5.8 (2.0-17.0 p < 0.001)]. Interestingly the increased odds ratio was found only in patients who were not on ACE inhibitors (Table 1).
