House mouse preputial glands

In the house mouse, Mus musculus, a great deal of attention has been paid in the past to the behavioral properties of its urine (Albone, 1984, and references quoted therein) and to a much lesser extent on other sources of odor such as the coagulating glands (Jones and Nowell, 1973), and the preputial glands (Bronson and Caroom, 1971). Even less information is available on the function of the odor of feces with which the secretion from glands located in the anal region is often associated. [Pg.87]
