Preparation of N-Cyclohexyl Linseed Oil Fatty Acid Amide 

Twenty grams of linseed oil and 10 g. of cyclohexylamine are stirred in an atmosphere of nitrogen for 70 hours at a temperature of 145° C. to 150° C. while being heatedAfter the reaction is over, the reaction mixture is poured into a mixture of 1 N hydrochloric acid and ice, and subjected to extraction with ethyl ether. The ether layer is washed successively with 5% hydrochloric acid, 5% sodium carbonate aqueous solution and water, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. 

Upon evaporation of ethyl ether, the residue is subjected to careful fractional distillation, thereby to yield 18.2 g. of N-cyclohexyl linseed oil fatty acid amide, B.P. 195-208° C./0.03 mm. Hg.
