Respiratory system pregnancy

Reliable correlations were found between lead concentrations in the soil and the incidence rates in the population of Dnepropetrovsk. In the adults, the pollution levels were associated with complications in pregnancy and delivery, diseases of urogenital, nervous and bone-and-muscular system, blood problems and tumors. In the children, the blood, blood forming organs, respiratory system and the muscles and bones were most frequently affected.

In ChinchUla and New Zealand white rabbits, thaUdomide 150 mg/kg on days 6-15 of pregnancy caused increased incidences of conceptions undergoing resorption and of fetal malformations, and reductions in Utter size and body weight of the 28-day fetuses 22% of fetuses were deformed, with abnormaUties affecting the locomotor, nervous, cutaneous, ocular, respiratory, and renal systems (177). 

Clinical use and toxicity Ribavirin is used in aerosol form for respiratory syncytial virus infections. Early intravenous administration decreases mortality in Lassa fever and other viral hemorrhagic fevers. Ribavirin has recently been shown to have efficacy in treatment of hepatitis C viral infections. Aerosol ribavirin may cause conjunctival or bronchial irritation. Systemic use results in dose-dependent myelosuppression. Ribavirin is a known human teratogen. absolutely contraindicated in pregnancy.
