Pregnancy kidney function

Lithium is contraindicated during pregnancy, especially the first trimester, due to congenital abnormalities, most notably of the heart. In rare situations, it may be necessary to continue lithium treatment in the pregnant patient, with dosage adjustments as necessitated by pregnancy-induced changes in kidney function. 

If lithium is necessary after first trimester, dosage adjustments are necessary due to pregnancy-induced kidney function changes. Frequent lab monitoring is also required. 

Narrow-angle glaucoma, acute alcohol intoxication, and pregnancy. Use with caution with impaired liver or kidney function. 

The SSRIs are contraindicated in patients with ahyjier-sensitivity to tlie dni and during pr nancy. The SSRIs are Pregnancy Category C dru (except for fluoxetine, winch is Pregnancy Cat ory B). SSRIs are used cautiously in patients with diabet mellitus or impaired liver or kidney function and during lactation.

In the case of tinea corporis, treatment may last longer than six weeks. The treatment of onychomycosis may last up to twelve months, certainly if the toenails are involved. Caution is required in patients with impaired kidney or Hver function or hematological disorders. Also, use is contraindicated during pregnancy. 

While cotinine functions fairly well as a marker of nicotine intake, it is not perfect due to individual variation in metalxtlism as discussed previously.
