Powder size

Process details may be summarized powder sizes are fine (usually < 20 Ilm) low (generally < 69 MPa (10,000 psi)) injection pressure low (ca I49°C) mol ding temperature shrinkage (molded part to finished size) typically 20% final part densities are usually 95—98% + of maximum pore-free density and ductility is exceptionally high, elongation values are > 30%. [Pg.185]

The recovery of copper powder from wastewater of electronic industries was investigated in three-phase inverse fluidized-bed electrode reactors(0.102m ID x 1.0m). Effects of gas and liquid velocities, current density, distance between the two electrodes and amount of fluidized particles on the recovery of copper powder were examined. The addition of a small amount of gas or fluidized particles into the reactor resulted in the decrease in the powder size of copper recovered as well as increase in the copper recovery. The value of copper recovery exhibited a maximum with increasing gas or liquid velocity, amount of fluidized particles or distance between the two electrodes but increased with increasing current density. [Pg.537]

IPS Steel Powder AB in Sweden, probably the only operating plant using oil atomization, routinely produces steel powders using oil atomization. The oil pressure used in atomization is low (0.5 MPa) and thus the resultant powder size is coarse (-500 pm). The oxygen content is, however, very low (<0.01 w/o O). High-pressure oil atomization (up to 10 MPa) is currently under evaluation by this company in an attempt to produce finer powders. [Pg.96]

Predominant nucleation maps could then be constructed (Figs. 11.41(a) and (b)) which show how the Al solution phase is extended as a ftmction of composition and powder size. Pan et al. (1989) improved the model and the approach was further applied by Saunders and Miodownik (1991) to a wide range of Al binary and... [Pg.471]

Powder size two fractions with a particle size of 0.05-0.09 mm and 0.40-0.63 mm were used. The vibromilling was performed for 48 h at 10° C The PVC content of the polymer was 6.57% for the first size particle and only 3.82% for the second, as the constant surface between polymer-monomer is less. [Pg.17]

When two samples are veiy similar, t approaches zero when they are different, t approaches infinity. The value of f is used to calculate the P value using Student s f-test tables, given in the appendix of this book. The P value is tte probability that the two distribution means are the same that is, Aj = Ag. When the P value is greater than a critical accepted value (typically 5% [21] or the experimental error due to both sampling and size determination if it is lai ger) then the null hypothesis (Ho Aj = A2) is accepted (i.e., the two populations are considered to be the same). Ceramic powder size distributions are often represented by log-normal distributions and not by normal distributions. For this reason the t statistic must be augmented for use with lognormal distributions. Equation (2.59) can be modified for this purpose to... [Pg.73]

Blending more than two powder size distributions follows the same general rules outlined here. [Pg.77]

The size of the cells was comparable to the largest powder size (i.e., Al). The thermal conductivity of each phase was determined using a model developed by Luikov et al. (1968), with the thermal conductivity of the cell determined using... [Pg.131]

The nucleation density of diamond on as received Si wafer is only in the order of 10 cm by a NIRIM-type MPCVD reactor under standard CVD conditions, e.g. c = 0.5%CH4/H2, P = 30 Torr, and = 800 °C. To make a continuous diamond film within one hour or so under these CVD conditions, a nucleation density of >10 cm is necessary. To achieve this, the Si surface is scratched with diamond powder or paste. The powder size is usually 0.1-30 pm. The nucleation density is increased to approximately 10 cm by this treatment. Alternatively, the Si wafer is ultrasonically treated in alcohol with diamond powder suspension for several minutes. The nucleation density can be increased to 10 -10 cm by this treatment. In both cases, the Si surface is roughened. [Pg.121]
