Potassium oxalate monohydrate

Chemical Designations-SyTm/Q ffu Potassium oxalate monohydrate Chemical Formula K2d204 H20. Observable Characteristics - Physical State (as normally shipped) Solid Color Colorless White Odor. None. [Pg.327]

Ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) [60-00-4] (Sequestrene), an anticoagulent at 1 mg of the disodium salt per mT. blood, complexes with and removes calcium, Ca2+, from the blood. Oxalate, citrate, and fluoride ions form insoluble salts with Ca2+ and chelate calcium from the blood. Salts containing these anticoagulants include lithium oxalate [553-91-3] LyC204, 1 mg/mL blood sodium oxalate [62-76-0] Na2C204, 2 mg/mL blood potassium oxalate monohydrate [6487-48-5] H20, 2 mg/mL blood sodium fluoride [7681-49-4] NaF, 2 mg/mL blood trisodium citrate... [Pg.176]

The moist gel is added to a mixture of 23 6g of oxalic acid 2-hydrate and 34.5g of potassium oxalate monohydrate in 100ml of hot water. Hie solution is filtered, if necessary, and evaporated to crystallization on the steam bath. The product is filtered off and dried in the dark. The mother liquor yields small additional amounts of product... [Pg.104]

A solution of 67 g. (0.1 mol) of aluminum sulfate, A12(S04)3T8H20, is treated with a solution of 24 g. of sodium hydroxide. The precipitated aluminum hydroxide is filtered, washed, and boiled with a solution of 76.8 g. of potassium hydrogen oxalate (or a mixture of 55.2 g. of potassium oxalate monohydrate and 37.8 g. of oxalic acid dihydrate) in about 800 ml. of water. Any aluminum hydroxide which does not dissolve is filtered out and the filtrate is evaporated to crystallization. The yield is nearly quantitative. [Pg.36]

Twenty-five grams of ferric sulfate, 50 g. of barium oxalate (which may be prepared from 50 g. of BaCl2 2H20 and 29.3 g. of Na2C204), and 27.3 g. of potassium oxalate monohydrate are placed in 600 ml. of water and digested for several hours on the steam bath. After filtering with suction and washing the precipitate, the filtrate is evapo-... [Pg.36]

To a solution of 23 g. of potassium oxalate monohydrate and 55 g. of oxalic acid dihydrate in 800 ml. of water is added 19 g. of powdered potassium dichromate in small portions with vigorous stirring. When the reaction is ended, the solution is evaporated nearly to dryness and... [Pg.37]

Potassium oxalate monohydrate [58] forms chains of alternating oxalate and water moieties. INS of single crystals has been used to assign the water translational and librational modes. Fig. 9.5. [Pg.383]

A concentrated aqueous solution containing 12 g. KgCrsO, is added dropwise with stirring to a solution containing 27 g. of oxalic acid dihydrate and 12 g. of neutral potassium oxalate monohydrate. The mixture is then evaporated to a small volume and slowly cooled to bring about crystallization. [Pg.1373]

A stock standard solution of 83.3/imol/mL DOC (Img/mLC) is prepared by dissolving 0.7669 g potassium oxalate monohydrate (a.g.) in 100 mL of LOCC water. This stock solution, stored in the dark at room temperature, is stable for at least 8 months in our experience. Oxalate has the advantage as a standard that it is resistant to microbiological destruction and is photochemically labile. Standards for calibration of the instrument are prepared by dilution of the stock solution with LOCC water immediately before the analysis. No detectable variation in analytical signal has been noted when LOCC distilled water is replaced by LOCC seawater for the preparation of standards. [Pg.432]
