Figure 2. ffiects of APG plasma treatment time and power input on RcX)2> RCH4 and a of poly(dimethylsiloxane) membranes. All data are measured 30 minutes after plasma treatment, filled circles IW, unfilled circles 2W, filled squares 15W. [Pg.139]

The effect of atmospheric pressure glow discharge (APG) plasma treatment on CO2 permeability and selectivity of poly(dimethylsiloxane) membranes was investigated in detail. The selectivity of CO 2 over CH4 was remarkably improved at low power input conditions (i.e. a few watts), and showed a maximum as a function of treatment time. The maximum CO2/CH4 selectivity obtained was 76, and the permeance of CO2... [Pg.147]

Furthermore, half-ellipsoid voxels and half-cylindrical rod shapes were fabricated by TP polymerization where a single voxel was obtained by a laser power of 50 pW and an exposure time of 0.5 s [135]. The half-cylindrical rod shapes based on poly(methylmethacrylate) possess a higher reflective index compared to air of about 0.5. Hence, this material can be used as waveguide material. The channel waveguide fabricated using a scanning speed of 40 pm/s and an input laser power of 500 pW of a femtosecond laser beam with a 0.65 NA microscope objective exhibits a width of 2 pm. In a similar way, a grating was made with 10 lines per 50 pm [135]. [Pg.309]

Another poly(A) site prediction tool, PAG, was designed to extract poly(A) sites from known dataset (with poly(A) specified) and use this information to predict poly(A) sites from unknown sequences. This is powerful when dealing with a new species that is substantially different (or do not know if there is different) from Arabidopsis or rice models. It constitutes three major steps. In the first step, PAG takes a set of nucleotide sequences as input and imports the parameter file for the classification model and the features. In the second step, a classification algorithm is performed to train and test the model. In the final step, the output files are generated. The output of PAG is a few text files with one of them containing the probabilities of each sequence to determine the potential poly(A) sites and the others as intermediate files. [Pg.15]

Polycrystalline silicon. Although the contacts between polycrystalline silicon and the filament are inherently perfect, the high resistance in combination with the high positive TCR of the poly-Si limits the operation temperature of the structure. Increasing the input power (and temperature) the resistance of the polysilicon wires on the suspension beams may dominate, resulting in malfunction of the device. [Pg.259]

The moisture sensor was made by replacing the cladding with a poly-mer/solvatochromatic dye compound that absorbed light in the presence of moisture. The degree of attenuation increased with wetness over most of the band between 0.4 and 1.4 (jim. At an input power of 2 mW, the dry and wet output power at two wavelengths is shown in Table 6.9. [Pg.456]
