Poly antitumor activity

Salts of neodecanoic acid have been used in the preparation of supported catalysts, such as silver neodecanoate for the preparation of ethylene oxide catalysts (119), and the nickel soap in the preparation of a hydrogenation catalyst (120). Metal neodecanoates, such as magnesium, lead, calcium, and zinc, are used to improve the adherence of plasticized poly(vinyl butyral) sheet to safety glass in car windshields (121). Platinum complexes using neodecanoic acid have been studied for antitumor activity (122). Neodecanoic acid and its esters are used in cosmetics as emoUients, emulsifiers, and solubilizers (77,123,124). Zinc or copper salts of neoacids are used as preservatives for wood (125). [Pg.106]

In addition, polyelectrolytes such as poly(acrylic acid-alt-maleic anhydride) (pyran) are reticuloendothelial stimulants, induce resistance to tumor growth [462,463] and show interferon-inducing ability and antiviral activity. The pyran activity may be dependent upon molecular weight. Low molecular weight materials of narrow polydispersity activate macrophages however antitumor activity does not appear to be molecular weight dependent [460]. [Pg.38]

Leukemia P388 has also been used as a primary screen to detect the antitumor activity of macromolecular conjugates. For example, Ohya et al. [213] used P388 to determine the antitumor activities of polygalactosamine immobilized 5-fluoruracil, and Zunino et al. [214] of a poly-L-aspartic acid-daunomycin conjugate. [Pg.92]

Being the first poly(glutamic acid) conjugate tested in clinical trials, paclitaxel conjugate of poly(glutamic acid) (CT-2103) was observed to have superior antitumor activity to free paclitaxel. In preclinical studies, it was evidenced that the whole conjugate extravasated to the tumor site and the drug was released extracellularly in... [Pg.1331]

Po rI poly rC was shown to have potent lantiviral and antitumor activities in vitro and mvivo and these activities were generally cor-ifelated with interferon induction (6). [Pg.117]

The second physical factor, drug content, has been known to be influential on the targeting efficacy of the ADR-incorporating polymeric micelles (76). Figure 7 compares the in vivo antitumor activities of two polymeric micelle samples composed of identical chain lengths of both the PEG and the poly(aspartic acid) chains. The amounts of chemically conjugated and physically entrapped ADR differed between the two samples, as summarized in Table 5. The antitumor activities of these two runs are shown in relation to the dose of the physically entrapped amount, since the physically entrapped ADR was revealed to be responsible for in vivo antitumor activity. Run 1 exhibited substantial activity, which can be seen in the significant decreases in tumor volumes in all three doses. Run 2 did not show any antitumor... [Pg.553]
