Thermal decomposition of the concentrate and compound samples was carried out using a Ray-Ran benchtop injection molding machine. This unit resembles an oversize melt index plastometer and is equipped with a heated barrel, die and plunger assembly. The capacity of the barrel is approximately 20 g. [Pg.73]

More recently, push-button key switch units were introduced. Early forms of this mechanism involved contact springs mounted in complex base mouldings, operated by moulded buttons and plunger assemblies. [Pg.261]

The initial design is analysed using CA at a component level for their combined ability to achieve the important customer requirement, this being the tolerance of 0.2 mm for the plunger displacement. Only those characteristics involved in the tolerance stack are analysed. The worst case tolerance stack model is used as directed by the customer. This model assumes that each component tolerance is at its maximum or minimum limit and that the sum of these equals the assembly tolerance, given by equation 2.16 (see Chapter 3 for a detailed discussion on tolerance stack models) ... [Pg.98]

Figure 2.42 shows the variability risks analysis based on the toleranees assigned to meet the 0.2 mm toleranee for the assembly. Given that an FMEA Severity Rating (S) = 5 has been determined, whieh relates to a definite return to manufaeturer , both impaet extruded eomponents are in the unaeeeptable design region, as well as the bobbin and plunger end seal as shown on the Conformability Matrix in Figure 2.43. The toleranee for the brass tube base thiekness has no risk and is an aeeeptable design. The process of fuel injection first involves movement of fuel from the fuel tank by the fuel delivery pump. This low-pressure pump supplies fuel into the fuel delivery port of each plunger and barrel assembly. As the plunger moves past and clears the fuel delivery port, fuel flows into the barrel filling the chamber above the top of the plunger. Continuous rotation of the camshaft then forces the plunger in the opposite direction, closing off the flow of fuel into the barrel and trapping fuel within the barrel chamber. [Pg.239]

Functioning. No action takes place on firing until a prescribed centrifugal force has been set up by rotation of the projectile in its travel, whereupon the plunger pins (G) holding the rotor assembly (F) and those supporting the fire pin (I) move forward. [Pg.888]

It is identical with the M55 series, except that M55 models have a booster assembled to the fuze. The fuze consists of three major parts 1) A closing cap or head (A) contg the SQ impact element (B, C, E) and the time-action plunger (F) 2) Two time-train rings,... [Pg.891]
