Placement hiring

Recruitment and placement of pharmacy personnel are two of the most important tasks a manager can undertake. If a manager finds and hires competent, self-motivated professionals, issues such as motivation and performance are less of a problem. Good hiring practices also diminish employee dissatisfaction and turnover by matching the right person with the right job. [Pg.152]

The hiring of unemployed persons who encounter particular placement difficulties may entitle the employer concerned to apply for a special subsidy. This possibility, which was introduced in 2004, has been modified such that it now applies to jobseekers over 50 who are engaged by an enterprise other than the one with which they were previously employed for longer than 12 months. The subsidy must not exceed the amount of ARE and is degressive. Finally, unemployed persons who wish to become self-employed can also apply for a special subsidy. [Pg.92]

These expenses include advertisement of the position or contact costs for a temporary placement agency, as well as the costs of personnel resources used for screening, interviewing, and other human resources functions necessary in the hiring process. [Pg.27]

Let s look for a moment at how labor costs are affected by an accident. Let s consider a case where a worker has an accident that causes two weeks of lost time and four weeks of modified duty. During this six-week period, the worker was not performing his job, so someone else had to do it. If this worker averaged 50 hours per week, the labor pool would have to have increased by 300 hours. In this age of being lean and mean, the 300 hours could be substantial because the replacement worker needs to be processed (i.e., applied and accepted, deemed fit for duty, hired, trained, oriented) before placement. [Pg.13]
