The profit and loss statement is a management tool used to gauge how the company is performing financially. Each store has its own profit and loss statement. When a pharmacist and pharmacy manager are visited by the pharmacy development manager, the profit and loss statement is reviewed to make sure that the company is on or within plan. If the pharmacy is not operating to plan, the area of concern is evaluated, an action plan is developed, and then it is put into play to achieve the desired results.
