Table I presents the results of "isothermal" simultaneous thermoanalytical (STA) runs, at 573 K and 773 K, for all three products. Similar data, at a fixed heating rate is shown in Table II. One of the crucial parameters is the temperature of maximum weight loss rate, corresponding to the time when dehydrochlorination of PVC starts becoming important. This temperature is close to 573 K in all cases. In fact, at a relatively fast heating rate, almost no decomposition occurs at temperatures under 563 K. If the materials are heated at 573 K for a prolonged period, complete dehydrochlorination takes place, but no further stages of PVC decomposition occur. None of the three materials investigated decomposes completely until a temperature of ca. 773 K is attained. Even then only a certain fraction of the entire mass of the samples is volatilised, due to the presence of inorganic fillers in their composition. Monitoring Perform periodic complete blood counts and clinical chemistry tests. Monitor serum amylase levels in those individuals who have a history of elevated amylase, pancreatitis, ethanol abuse, who are on parenteral nutrition, or who are otherwise at high risk of pancreatitis. [Pg.1865]

Although the addition of small amounts of acetaldehyde reduced the induction period markedly, the acceleration period and (p were unaffected until the pressure added exceeded that present just before the cool flame. In contrast, apparently, to the results of Cullis and Newitt [16], the addition of quite large amounts of acetaldehyde did not eliminate the induction period completely and only reduced the acceleration period by less than 25 %. [Pg.446]

As shown in Figure 5 most ethyne is converted. During the net oxidizing part of a cycle period complete conversion of both CO and C,H2 occurs. The noble metal surface becomes then almost totally covered with molecular NO and with 0 and N adatoms, and the O2 and the NO gas phase concentrations start to increase. When the concentration of the reducing reactants increases due to the inlet oscillation, the reaction with adsorbed oxygen begins and the O2 gas phase concentration decreases. [Pg.456]

A constant-composition alloy film may be deposited using flash evaporation techniques, where a small amount of the alloy material is periodically completely vaporized. This technique is used to vaporize alloys whose constituents have widely differing vapor pressures. Flash evaporation can be done using a very hot surface and dropping a pellet or periodically touching a wire tip to the surface so that the pellet or tip is completely vaporized. [Pg.212]
