Parameter coded

In order to inspect the first term on the right-hand side of Eq. (27) closer we ask ourselves first on which circular benzenoid the two-contact addition according to (a) should be executed. It is clear that the formula of this circular benzenoid is obtained by subtracting C3H from C HS. In terms of the three-parameter code it was found that ... [Pg.104]

The Sandia code CONTAIN is a lumped parameter code with mechanistical models for simulating the physical and chemical conditions in the nuclear containment to predict hydrogen and steam concentration distribution as well as the consumption of H2 by respective combustion. Assuming a core meltdown accident and no vessel breach, i.e., no corrosion/concrete interaction, the code has predicted a thermally stratified containment atmosphere with relatively low temperatures in the central and lower regions which would permit steam condensation. Concerning H2 deflagration, CONTAIN predicts respective bums, if sprays are used for steam removal [56],... [Pg.53]

For detailed cladding and coolant temperature information the distributed parameter codes are used, which calculate two-dimensional temperature fields in the coolant, cladding and fuel. [Pg.38]

The component map describes the functions associated with every control, indicator, and alarm available to the ADS-IDAC control room crew. Each operator knowledge base includes a unique component functional map in order to match operator behavior with to a desired level of knowledge, skills, and abilities. A three parameter coding scheme is used to identify component functions. The first parameter identifies the type of flow (i.e., energy, mass, or momentum). [Pg.338]

For interpretation and extrapolation of the experimental results the central role of a computer code as vital analytical tool has been emphasized. In Ref. 7 an attempt is made to identify areas of particular interest. For these great care should be exercised, when scaled experimental results are interpreted and extrapolated with the aid of dimensional analysis of a fypical set of conservation equations normally used in the lumped parameter codes. Two basic assumptions have been made in the course of the dimensional analysis. These are the geometrical similarity of the test fecilify and the prototype plant and performing the experiments with the same fluid compon ts, which are expected to dominate within the containment atmosphere of the prototype plant. Both of the two basic assumptions are valid in the VICTORIA test fecilify. [Pg.237]

For the calculation of phenomena and system behaviour the major lumped parameter codes as CONTAIN, MELCOR and COCOSYS in addition to many codes for special purposes(e.g. melt/concrete interaction) are used. For the assessments which need a very detailed simulation of geometrical structures (e g. hydrogen accumulation, deflagration to detonation-transition and bums) CFD-codes are used with increasing frequency. Nevertheless, validation and model improvements are still needed. [Pg.25]
