Packings difference between older

Table 1 gives the tailing factor for the basic analyte amitriptyline at neutral pH on several commercially available packings. One can clearly see the difference between the older packings and the newer packings based on high-purity silicas. It is unquestionable today that surface silanols on a packing participate in the retention of basic analytes, and... [Pg.102]

Herring Gull eggs to an Aroclor 1254 1260 equivalent calculated from a single peak ( 138) in a capillary GC-ECD chromatogram indicated that there was little difference between the two numbers (CWS unpublished data). Further research is required to relate older data obtained by packed column GC to the sum of individual PCBs from capillary column GC. [Pg.95]

Figures 2 and 3 show a comparison between a chromatogram of LiChrosorb RP-8 10 ym obtained recently and another obtained a few years ago. Differences in selectivity are apparent the old packing material gives the best results, probably due to a somewhat lower coverage and better interaction between polar solutes and free si-lanols. The older chromatogram was obtained at a somewhat lower flow rate (0.8 ml/min) and a different chart speed. Previously the elution order of the cephalosporins at the end of the chromatogram was 13, 12, 4, and now it is 4, 13, 12. Before 5 and 7 coeluted and now... Hermetic packages, such as the older flat pack design or ceramic leadless chip carriers (CLCCs), are used in harsh applications (such as military and space applications) where water vapor and contaminants can shorten the life of the device. Thus they are used in mission critical communication, and navigation and avionic systems. The reliability of CLCC package connections can be further improved by the attachment of leads to the connection pads, to eliminate differences in the thermal coefficient of expansion between the parts and the circuit board material. [Pg.857]
