P-Tolyl urea

The most important substances of this group are l,l-dimethyl-3-phenylurea (fenuron, 5) 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea, (monuron, 6) 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1 -dimethylurea (diuron,7) 1,1 -dimethyl-3-(a,a,a-trifluoro-m-tolyl)urea (fluometuron, 8) l,l-dimethyl-3-( ,a,a-trifluoro-p-tolyl)urea (para-fluron, 9) 3-(3-chloro-/j-tolyl)-1,1-dimethylurea (chlortoluron, 10) 3-(3-chloro-4-methoxyphenyl)-l,l-dimethylurea (metoxuron, 11) 3-[(4-chlorophenoxy)phenyl]-... [Pg.656]

In the course of this study, the authors determined /Lvalues for dibenzyl, methyl phenyl, methyl p-nitrophenyl, di-p-tolyl, di-isopropyl and tetramethylene sulphoxides and for diethyl, dipropyl and dibutyl sulphites. The /Lscales are applied to the various reactions or the spectral measurements. The /Lscales have been divided into either family-dependent (FD) types, which means two or more compounds can share the same /Lscale, family-independent (FI) types. Consequently, a variety of /Lscales are now available for various families of the bases, including 29 aldehydes and ketones, 17 carboxylic amides and ureas, 14 carboxylic acids esters, 4 acyl halides, 5 nitriles, 10 ethers, 16 phosphine oxides, 12 sulphinyl compounds, 15 pyridines and pyrimidines, 16 sp3 hybridized amines and 10 alcohols. The enthalpies of formation of the hydrogen bond of 4-fluorophenol with both sulphoxides and phosphine oxides and related derivatives fit the empirical equation 18, where the standard deviation is y = 0.983. Several averaged scales are shown in Table 1588. [Pg.559]

The nitrogen complex has only transient existence. These reactions permit a catalytic carbonyla-tion of azides to isocyanates at low CO pressure." The complexes [RhX(CO)L2] (X = C1, Br, F L = P(OPh)3, PPhj, P(4-C1C6H4)3, P(4-MeOC6H4)3, P(C6H )j, PBu"3) were investigated and [RhCi(CO)(PBu 3)2] gave the highest rate for the carbonylation of p-tolyl azide. In a separate study, complex (71) and [Rh(diphos)2] were shown to catalyze the same azide carbonylation and also to give ureas in presence of aniline derivatives (equation 92) and carbamates in presence of alcohols (equation 93). ... [Pg.276]

It was shown earlier that (diphenylamine-p-tolylive-cyanate) urea (DTCU) may be used as antioxidant of thermo- and photooxidative destruction of AC. It was interesting to use DTCU for increasing antioxidative stability of PCA. With this purpose small amount of DTCU were introduced into e - caprolactam directly before its polycondensation, which was carried out according to well known methods [132]. Content of DTCU additives in polycondensation mixture was 0,5 - 3% from caprolactam mass. [Pg.41]

Two of the transformation products that demonstrate increased potency were the demethylated products of urea herbicides (3-(3-chloro-p-tolyl)-l-methylurea and N-desmethyl-isoproturon), whilst 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinol and 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol are transformation products from OP insecticides that have had the ethylated and methylated phosphorothionate moiety cleaved from their structure, respectively. [Pg.189]

V-Substituted glycosylamines having aliphatic amines and substituted anilines as aglycons are prepared simply by reaction of the amine and aldose, or acetylated aldose, in aqueous or alcoholic solution (5, 10, H, 26a, 32). The preparation of V-p-tolyl- or V-phenyl-D-fructosylamine requires acid catalysis, better results being obtained by the use of the amine hydrochloride as the catalyst than of ammonium chloride (23). Acid catalysis may also be necessary for ketoses and to condense certain weak amines and urea with aldoses (33) but often may be unnecessary and even undesirable (34)-... [Pg.412]
