Haematological changes in association with tetracycline therapy have been rare. A case is described of thrombocytopenic purpura in a patient receiving 2 g oxytetra-cycline daily for 6 days. On withdrawal of the drug the patient recovered, with gradual disappearance of the rash and improvement of platelet count and bleeding time (77 ).
