Oxygen chemical looping carbon dioxide

Calcium and chemical looping technology for power generation and carbon dioxide (CO2) capture Solid oxygen- and COi-carriers... [Pg.437]

CLC [Chemical Looping Combustion] Also called carbonate-looping. A two-stage process for efficient combustion of hydrocarbon gases. It is more efficient than normal one-stage combustion and facilitates carbon dioxide capture. There are two fluidized beds through which particles of a metal/metal oxide circulate. Possible oxygen carrier materials include oxides of Ni, Cu, Mn, and Fe. First proposed in 1951 but not demonstrated until 2003. Piloted at the Technical University of Darmstadt from 2009 to 2012. [Pg.75]
