Oxidative binder degradation study

Thermal degradation studies might be required to determine the decomposition characteristics of of the subject pesticide vAien heated alone or In the presence of oxidizers and/or binders In both closed and open systems and at various temperatures. [Pg.18]

Estane/NP binder was aged under inert atmosphere at 65, 75 and 85°C for the oxidative degradation study. These samples were analyzed by H NMR and GPC analysis. The first order kinetics was examined based on the relative amount of oxidation in Estane. Mechanical properties of this aged binder were examined and were correlated to the amount of Estane oxidation. [Pg.210]

A fuel cell utilizing UDMH as fuel and N02 as oxidant is reported. Operated intermittently over a 3-month period with degradation, it consistently produced a power density of 40mw/ cm2 (40w/ft2). The cell consists of a sandwich of Zr acid phosphate in a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVF) binder and diffuse-catalyst layers of Pt black, Zr acid phosphate and PVF. Pt screens are used as current collectors] 3) G.R. Eske-lund et al, Chemical-Mechanical Mine , PATR 3724 (1968) [A mine feasibility study is reported in which the hypergolic system UDMH—... [Pg.44]

Devitrification of binder at the pore surfaces has been frequently reported for similar and first generation clay bonded hot gas filters after the use in real combustion conditions. In the current study similar devitrification was qualitatively found to increase as function of time and the amount of water vapour in water vapour environment. Further, oxidation of SiC occurred in both materials after 500 h exposure at 850°C atmospheric water vapour. The results of the current study are in accordance with the results of similar filters operated up to 1500 h in pilot plant in varying combustion environments. Our earlier evaluations of the filter material performance have indicated severe oxidation of SiC and this combined with the crystallization of the oxidation layer and cracking due to thermal stresses and mismatch due the phase transformation of Si02 has been pointed as a mechanism to degrade the strength and operation lifetime of SiC-based clay bonded hot gas filters, ... [Pg.159]
