For the packaging materials, in general the contents (protection and safety of the contents inside the package), and the environment, are both important for protection, and any packaging material is supposed to provide optimum safety both to the goods inside the package and to the environment outside.

For the safety of the environment, it is mainly of interest to prevent leakage of possible pollutants, toxics and aggressive products from the package by providing, for example, a shatter resistant package, or by providing additional safety such as safety caps, child resistant caps.
