Other Yarn-Forming Systems

Since conventional ring spinning systems take several steps to reduce fibers to a spun yarn, several alternative techniques have been developed that reduce the number of these steps. Most of these processes have more limited usefulness with regard to the range of linear densities and type and distribution of fiber lengths that can be processed by these systems,

For all of these formations, at least two different sets of elements, perpendicular to each other, interacted. In all of the fabric type areas, eccentric yarn shapes moving in a curvilinear fashion were identified. No selvages were observed. Single yarn forms do turn back into the formations, but there is no consistency to the movement. Bearing in mind that no positive identification of warp and weft can be made without a selvage, the analyst used the terms system A and system B to designate those sharing a rectilinear relationship. System C indicated yarn shapes that are present in the area but do not interact rectilinearly. 

Braid n. (1) A narrow textile band, often used as trimming or binding, formed by plaiting several strands of yarn. The fabric is formed by interfacing the yarns diagonally to the production axis of the material. (2) In aerospace textiles, a system of three or more yarns which are interlaced in such a way that no two yarns are twisted around each other. 

Staple is used directly in the manufacturing of nonwoven fabrics and spim into yarn through the cotton, worsted, and woolen systems in 100% form or in blends with other synthetic or natural fibers. 

Forming fabrics are manufactured on weaving looms with a width of up to 15 m, where CD yarns (wefts) and MD yarns (warps) are interlaced with each other. The weft insertion is typically made by using shuttles, projectiles or band rapier systems.
