Figure 7. The overall idea of solid-phase oligosaccharide synthesis on the basis of the orthogonal glycosylation strategy. The orthogonal glycosylation strategy can be used m solid-phase olip-saccharide synthesis and can accelerate the process by dramatically reducing the number of reaction steps. A hydrophobic tag can be incorporated at the end of the synthesis and this is used to extract the desired compound from the accumulated by-products.
