Organisation conflict within

Conflicts can stem from the different ways in which individuals or groups believe that affairs should be run. This can be seen in the broad differences between political parties over the allocation of national resources, in the differing views on how a social club should be organised and, within an organisation, the different views on whether, for example, promotion should be on the basis of merit or seniority. Again, employees may be disenchanted with the way their tasks are organised because the planned way does not match their natural way of working. [Pg.293]

Within any organisation, people have their own ideas about priorities for themselves and for the organisation which not infrequently conflict with the official view. Many of the individuals in an organisation are likely to be subject to conflicting demands upon their time, energy and their principles not only in their work where they may play a number of roles but also in their private lives. Conflicts can arise within and between individuals, groups, departments and organisations. [Pg.292]

The internal social capital of a company is made up of all employees, including executive staff. This form of social capital covers the connections and relations that transfer the standards, attitudes, principles and customs that are manifested in the so-called spirit of the organisation or the organisational climate, in knowledge coding methods, product development and conflict resolution, etc. Internal capital determines the quality of relationships between and among employees and departments within the entire company. [Pg.205]

Accreditation rules do not allow the Certification Body also to provide consulting services to obtain or maintain certification/registration within the same organisational entity because of the conflicts of interest that can arise. Consultancy is considered to be participation in an active creative manner in the development of the item (e.g. management system) to be assessed. If the certification body offers accredited certification to those organisations to which it has provided consulting, it cannot be objective in its evaluation of the system, since it has helped to develop it. However certification bodies are allowed to carry out some activities without them being considered as consultancy e.g. [Pg.245]
