Organic solvent electrolyte. (The solvents actually used may differ in cells from different manufacturers. Typically, they include propylene carbonate, dimethoxyethane, or similar solvents).

It should be remarked that aluminum metal used as a current collector of the positive electrode is perfectly inert against electrolytic oxidation in the present condition [5] while severe corrosion of aluminum is well known in LiTFSA-organic solvent electrolytes. 

For any system with a high prevalence of organic construction (plastic cases, separators) or organic solvent electrolytes (as in lithium-ion cell technologies), the rate of oxygen consumption may be directly correlated to the heat released based on a standard of 13.1 MJ kg oxygen consumed. A combination of radiant flux meters provides aU necessary data to support large-scale battery failure analysis.
