The possibility of controlling ihc morphological and structural order in the solid is therefore a fundamental requirement for the control and reproducibility of the emission properties of a luminescent material within an organic light emitting diode (OLED) device. 

Thermally and mechanically stable thin film formation is indispensable for fabrication of practical electronic devices such as organic light-emitting diodes, field-effect transistors, and particularly for flexible electronic papers. There are two approaches for formation of thermally and mechanically stable thin films. One is formation of glassy semiconductors retaining ordered structures by cooling from liquid-crystalline states [94]. The other approach is polymerization of liquid-crystalline semiconductors with a reactive moiety. 

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on thin conjugated polymer films have attracted much interest recently because of their possible application in large-area flat-panel displays [1]. The use of double layer structures employing a hole transport layer (HTL) leads to improved device performance (Fig. 1).
