Organic film cycle

Any atmospheric environment is subject to dry and wet cycles. Since water and moisture have a decided effect on the degradation of a coating, the time of wetness of a coating is important. Moisture and water that attack organic films are from the rain, fog, dew, snow, and water vapors in the... [Pg.112]

Removing the soak cleaner film from the work, whether it is alkaline or acid, takes a good portion of the preplate process cycle. If the soak cleaner has performed well, the organic sods have been solubdized completely, and the water-iasoluble sod film originally on the work has been replaced with a surface-active but water-soluble film. This film now contains the elements of the cleaner along with the cleaner—sod constituents. Rinsing ia clean water is essential to reduciag this tenacious film. [Pg.149]

Lithium metal is chemically very active and reacts thermodynamically with any organic electrolyte. However, in practice, lithium metal can be dissolved and deposited electrochemically in some organic electrolytes [5]. It is generally believed that a protective film is formed on the lithium anode which prevents further reaction [6, 7]. This film strongly affects the lithium cycling efficiency. [Pg.341]

Due to the need to increase cycles, the limitations of zinc at high pH levels and the stripping of inhibitor film at low pH, a change is recommended to a High Stress Tolerant, All Organic Program. [Pg.42]
