Some novel optically active poly(amide-imide)s were synthesized with tetrahydro-pyrimidinone and tetrahydro-2-thioxopyrimidine moieties by microwave-assisted polycondensation, in the presence of a small amount of o-cresol (Mallakpour et al, 2001). Poly(amide-imide)s were produced within 10 min with inherent viscosities of about 0.25-0.45 dL/g in high yields.
