Operational stage definition

The way a pilot plant is designed affects its cost, operabiUty, and effectiveness. AH operating ranges may not yet be fully defined at the initial design stage, but a reahstic preliminary range is required before the design is commenced, as is a clear definition of the pilot plant s purpose. [Pg.41]

The slope of the operating line is F7S, just as in Eqs. (15-11) and (15-12), but only stages 2 through / — 1 will fall directly on the operating line. And one knows that X will be on the equihbrium line in equilibrium with by definition (see Fig. 15-12). One can calculate a pseudo feed concentration Ay that will fall on the operating line [Eq. 05-11)] at = Y, [Eq. (15-19)]. [Pg.1463]

Now we are ready to formulate the basic idea of the correction algorithm in order to correct the four-indexed operator f1, it is enough to correct the two-indexed operators fc and f 1 in the supermatrix representation (7.100). The real advantage of this proposal is its compatibility with any definite way of f2 and P7 correction [61, 294], The matrix inversion demanded in (7.99) is divided into two stages. In the fi, v subspace it is possible to find the inverse matrix analytically with the help of the Frobenius formula that is well known in matrix algebra [295]. The... [Pg.256]

A small but diverse team of personnel is typically involved in the activities of the Project Identification and Definition Stage (refer to Figure 2.1). Representatives from groups such as process analytics, process control, project management, central engineering and production operations should populate the team in the first stage. The size and diversity of the team should grow from the identification step to the definition step as resources are allocated and plans developed. [Pg.24]

The third stage is data transmission during which the microcomputer transmits the entire data set for the sample to the minicomputer. The data is stored on disk until the operator initiates the fourth stage, data reduction. If multiple samples and injections have been programmed, the minicomputer sends to the microcomputer the information in the sample definition file for the next sample, and operation continues without further operator intervention. [Pg.62]

This process offers a definite advantage in terms of economics, and is highly automated, thus requiring only a few skilled operators. In our LaRochelle plant, we operate more than one thousand extraction stages based on the mixing/settling principle, (Figure 18) A typical mixer settler unit is shown... [Pg.161]

Nearly all ozonation effects and their respective extent and kinetic pattern depend on the amount of ozone consumed in the ozone contactor and subsequent reactors. This requires the search for and definition of optimal operational parameters for an ozonation stage, such as a concentration-time-value (c-f-value) for a given degree of disinfection or the ratio of ozone mass consumed per mass of organic compounds initially present. [Pg.21]
