Nitroglycerin formulations

Formulate a monitoring plan for a patient with ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome receiving fibrinolytics, aspirin, unfractionated heparin, intravenous nitroglycerin, intravenous (3-blockers followed by oral P-blockers, an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, and a statin. [Pg.83]

Acutely hazardous wastes are the second most common type of listed waste. U. S. EPA designates a waste as acutely hazardous if it contains the appendix constituents that scientific studies have shown to be fatal to humans or animals in low doses. In a few cases, acutely hazardous wastes contain no appendix constituents, but are extremely dangerous for another reason. An example is a listed waste that designates unused discarded formulations of nitroglycerine as acutely hazardous. Although nitroglycerine is not an appendix hazardous constituent, wastes containing unused... [Pg.501]

Several types of nitrate esters are used to formulate smokeless nitropolymers. Nitrocellulose (NC) is mixed with nitroglycerin (NG), trimethylolethane trini-... [Pg.344]

Nitropolymers composed of -O-NO2 functions and hydrocarbon structures are pyrolants that produce fuel-rich products accompanied by exothermic reaction. Typical nitropolymers are mixtures of nitrocellulose, nitroglycerin, trimethylolethane trinitrate, or triethylene glycol dinitrate, similar to the double-base propellants used in rockets and guns. Mixtures of these nitropolymers are formulated as fuel-rich pyrolants used in ducted rockets. This class of pyrolants is termed NP pyrolants. [Pg.450]

These nitro compounds act as good plasticizers for nitrocellulose (NC). In addition, these compounds when mixed with nitroglycerine (NC) reduce its sensitivity and thus act as efficient desensitizers for its safe handling and transportation. The enhancement in performance characteristics of PBXs or propellant formulations is mainly due to the fact that the conventional non-energetic plasticizers such as... [Pg.272]

The choice of material for use as inhibitor depends mainly upon the type of propellant, that is, DB, CMDB, Composite and Fuel-rich and also on the ingredients in their formulations. For double-base propellants, cellulosic materials such a cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose and different filled or unfilled flexible polyesters are used while fuel or binder material filled with inert substances such as asbestos, mica, silica, etc. in fine powder form is used for composite propellants. Since nitroglycerine is present in CMDB propellants also as in DB propellants, the materials used for DB propellants may also be used with minor modifications for the inhibition of CMDB propellants. [Pg.293]
