Nitrogen heterocycles, literature reviews

A review was published this year covering the literature of saturated nitrogen heterocycles over 1998 with a section devoted to piperidine synthesis <99JCS(P1)2553>. [Pg.251]

There now exists a vast literature on inorganic heterocycles, and much of this has been reviewed in the two recent volumes edited by Haiduc and Sowerby [19], The most extensively studied of the boron-nitrogen heterocycles, and probably the system... [Pg.52]

Although the chemistry of the polycyclic nitrogen heterocycles containing one heteronitrogen atom has been the subject of many comprehensive reviews in recent years, the chemistry of pyrindines has received no such attention.la-lb This review will systematically survey the chemical literature, through 1969, concerning the chemistry of the derivatives of 1-pyrindine (l)-(9), 6,7-dihydro-5//-l-pyrindine (10), hydroxy- and oxo-6,7-dihydro-5//-l-pyrindine, 5/7-l-pyrindine-5,7(6/7)-dione (11), and hexahydro- and octahydro-1-pyrindine. Some medically important 1 -pyrindine derivatives, such as the octahydro- and decahy-drobenzo[a]cyclopenta[/]quinolizines (12) and (13) will also be discussed. [Pg.187]

Aran, Goya, and Ochoa (Institute of Medicinal Chemistry, Madrid, Spain) contribute the first comprehensive review of heterocycles containing the sulfamide moiety, covering a wide diversity of heterocyclic ring systems. The chapter by Comins and O Connor, on regioselective substitution in aromatic six-membered nitrogen heterocycles, describes exciting work contributed by their laboratory and also includes a broad literature survey. [Pg.404]

No specific review of aromatic azapentalenes exists, though much of the work before 1960 is covered in a more general article on bicyclic heterocycles with bridgehead nitrogen atoms by Mosby6 in the Weissberger series on heterocyclic chemistry. That article makes no distinction between aromatic and saturated systems, and the present review, though not exhaustive, deals mainly with aromatic systems and covers most of the literature to the end of 1975. Nonaromatic compounds will not be treated except where they are sufficiently important. [Pg.185]

The main aim of this monograph is a comprehensive review and organization of the known literature data devoted to the reactions of o,/3-unsaturated ketones, their synthetic equivalents and their precursors utilized in the synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles. The book is separated into four chapters and an Addendum, and contains nearly 900 literature references. Each chapter describes the synthesis and chemical and other interesting properties and features of certain classes of heterocyclic compounds. [Pg.215]
