Thatcher and Johnson (1973) discussed the use of neutron activation of trace elements in water and aquatic biota. Numerous papers on the application to specific aquatic systems exist. Among these are the work of Lucas et aL (1970), who studied trace elements in Great Lakes fishes, and Piper and Goles (1969), who determined trace elements in seawater.
