National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association, Washington, D.C. [Pg.1]

At the FATIPEC Conference held in Paris, June 3 to 6, 1951, an international group of experts pooled their information. The papers were combined and published under the French title, Journ es d Etude sur les Peintures et Vernis dans la Lutte contre le Feu, describing the role of paints and varnishes in the war against fire, John C. Moore and myself were honored to be invited to present some of the work done at the laboratories of the Scientific Section of the National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association. [Pg.2]

The author acknowledges the aid of the New York Production Club, the National Paint, Varnish, and Lacquer Association, the Engineer Research and Development Laboratories, the General Electric Co., and the Albi Manufacturing Co. in the preparation of this paper. [Pg.6]

Two associations are concerned with paints. The National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association, of Washington, D. C., through its Statistical Division, compiles current data on domestic and Canadian sales, trends in hours and earnings, statistics on fats and oils, price indexes of prepared paints and paint materials, and other information. Such data are published in the weekly journal. Coatings (28), for its membership. The association issued in 1950 a Statistical Handbook (33) on the paint industry to its members. A supplement of this handbook will contain later statistics on production and sales, consumption of raw materials, exports, price data, and other information. [Pg.28]

National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association, Washington 5, D. C., Coatings, weekly. Statistical data, largely reprints of U. S. Government data. Annual summary gives historical data on sales of paint industry. [Pg.431]

These two types of questions are troublesome because, although most organizations have lists and indexes of their own material, there is no over-all list or index to standards. Standards are not, as a general rule, abstracted for abstract journals. There have been a few compilations of standards. One of these is the National Directory of Commodity Specifications issued by the National Bureau of Standards. Another is Circular 751 of the Scientific Section of the National Paint, Varnish, and Lacquer Association. This circular contains abstracts of all U. S. government specifications on paints, varnishes, lacquers, and their raw materials. [Pg.451]

In the program conducted for the National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association, 45 solvents were examined under the following conditions 4 ppm organic, 2 ppm nitric oxide. Profiles were obtained for the solvents, and reactivity measurements were obtained from the profiles. [Pg.84]
