The seven Participating Organizations of the lOMC are FAO, ILO, OECD, UNEP, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and WHO. In addition, two observer organizations are also participating in the lOMC, namely the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank aOMC 2006). 

The ENVforum is advised by a steering committee of representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Environmental Agency (EEA), Earth Council Asia-Pacific, the Regional Institute of Environmental Technology, the International Climate Policy Research Group, Zurich University, DG Environment of the European Commission and KEHATI-the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation. The Research Centre for Sustainable Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) joined the steering committee in 2005. 

Work in the author s laboratory was supported by grants from the United Nations Development Program/World Bank/World Health Organization Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, the National Institutes of Health (USA), and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. 

Development banks that fund infrastructure schemes often require Road Safety Audits to be undertaken. For example, the World Bank insisted on Road Safety Audits in India, despite there being no national procedures in place at the time (Bagi and Kumar, 2012). 

In 1971 the Protein Data Bank - PDB [146] (see Section 5.8 for a complete story and description) - was established at Brookhaven National Laboratories - BNL -as an archive for biological macromolccular cr7stal structures. This database moved in 1998 to the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics -RCSB. A key component in the creation of such a public archive of information was the development of a method for effreient and uniform capture and curation of the data [147], The result of the effort was the PDB file format [53], which evolved over time through several different and non-uniform versions. Nevertheless, the PDB file format has become the standard representation for exchanging inacromolecular information derived from X-ray diffraction and NMR studies, primarily for proteins and nucleic acids. In 1998 the database was moved to the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics - RCSB.
