Multichannel photoelectric spectrometers

Multichannel Photoelectric Spectrometers After the appearance of pholoeleclric transducers in the IWOs, multichannel pholoeleclric spectrometers became commercially available. [Pg.271]

Application of laser Raman multichannel spectroscopy to a kinetic investigation in the liquid phase has been reported by Crunelle-Cras and Merlin (1977). A multichannel spectrometer with photoelectric image devices, interfaced with a data aquisition and handling system, permits the study of fast processes, exemplified by the fast oxidation of the sulfite ion by the bromate ion in an acidic medium. [Pg.433]

A spectrometer is an instrument that provides information about the intensity of radiation as a function of wavelength or frequency. The dispersing modules in some spectrometers are multichannel so that two or more frequencies can be viewed simultaneously. Such instruments are sometimes called polychromators. A spectrophotometer is a spectrometer equipped with one or more exit slits and photoelectric transducers that permit the determination of the ratio of the radiant power of two beams as a function of wavelength as in absorption spectroscopy. A spectrophotometer for fluorescence analysis is sometimes called a speciroftttorometer. [Pg.110]

In addition to speed, photoelectric multichannel spectrometers often exhibit good analytical precision. Under ideal conditions reproducibilities of the order of 1% relative to the amount present have been demonstrated. Because other instrument components (such as the source) exhibit lower precision than the spectrometer, such high precision is not often achieved in the overall measurement process, however. Multichannel instruments of this type are generally more expensive than the sequential instruments described in the previous section and not as versatile. [Pg.666]
