Multi-annual Work Programme

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) Multi-annual Work Programme (MAWP)... 

EC-funded research has also been developed through the Joint Research Centre s Multi-annual Work Programme (MAWP), embedded into the EU RTD Framework Programme. Several key actions of the MAWP are directly relevant to water policies, e.g. actions related to chemicals in the aquatic enviromnent, ecological water quality, marine ecosystems, the water quality information system, the European Measurement Infrastructure, and policies and human resources for research. 

When the funding from Europe ceased at the end of the 1979-83 multi-annual programme, EWICS TC7 members decided in consultation with their sponsoring companies that the work was important and should continue. It appeared that Europe might in the near future be in a position to re-commence partial funding, so EWICS TC7 continued to meet and work funded entirely by its members and their companies.
