Molecular organization higher order structures

The condensation products are mainly or wholly insoluble in organic solvents but do not differ markedly in C/H ratio from the high-boiling pitch compounds from which they have separated. The average molecular weight of the pitch shortly before conversion to spheres was about 450 and that of the material of the newly formed spheres was about 1700. Presumably further condensation reactions occur within the ordered structure of the spheres at higher temperatures after complete conversion to low-temperature coke. 

The structure-property relationships are affected by three main structural elements-coordination and hence packing, which determines some of the nonlinear harmonics the degree of conjugation along the backbone and the effects of the substituents-all of which have previously been reported to affect two-photon absorption processes thus it is proposed that the same applies for other higher-order systems. However, it is rare for reports of these high-order multiphoton absorption processes displayed by organic metal complexes to be accompanied with detailed molecular structure to show the correlation between the photoproperties. 

Hierarchical Higher Organization - From Bilayers to Fibers and Rods Amphiphile assembly sometimes results in higher order supramolecular assemblies. Fibrous structures and helical ribbons with molecular dimensions are formed spontaneously.
