Modifications oligosaccharide

Typical spectra obtained are shown in Fig. 1.2. Moreover, substantial radiolytically-mediated elevations in the concentration of serum formate, arising from the oxidation of carbohydrates present by OH radical, were also detectable. In addition to the above modifications, 7-radiolysis of inflammatory knee-joint synovial fluid generated an oligosaccharide species of low molecular mass derived from the radiolytic fragmentation of hyaluronate as outlined in the previous section dealing with oxidative damage to carbohydrates. The... [Pg.9]

Many other linkers besides those listed above have been developed for two-phase synthesis of oligosaccharides on insoluble supports, and it can be expected that at least some of them will be tested on soluble supports. It should be kept in mind that MPEG-supported syntheses can be easily scaled up therefore, any relationship between both types of polymer supports will be cooperative rather than mutually exclusive. Such linkers will most probably include dialkyl- or diaryl-silyl linkers,10,41 3 and linkers cleavable by photolysis such as the o-nitrobenzyl group and its modifications.44 16... [Pg.190]

The CFR 21 part 11 compliant software newly released by Convergent Bioscience makes imaged cIEF a viable technique for use in QC environments for release testing of therapeutic proteins or antibody molecules. i-cIEF has also been used heavily for characterization of protein modifications such as deamidation and isomerization, as well as oligosaccharide structure analysis. ... [Pg.378]

Three pro-a chains assemble to form a triple helical structure (procollagen), which can now be transferred to the Goigi. Modification of oligosaccharide continues in the Golgi. [Pg.58]

The selective protection of hydroxyl groups is obviously most frequent in carbohydrate synthesis and, in fact, photosensitive protecting groups have been used to this effect in oligosaccharide synthesis, nucleotide synthesis, and saccharide modification. Here, as well as in other Sections, special attention will be devoted to 2-nitrobenzyl derivatives, whose re-... [Pg.180]

In this chapter, the discussion will be focused on the ID TOCSY (TO-tal Correlation SpectroscopY) [2] experiment, which, together with ID NOESY, is probably the most frequently and routinely used selective ID experiment for elucidating the spin-spin coupling network, and obtaining homonuclear coupling constants. We will first review the development of this technique and the essential features of the pulse sequence. In the second section, we will discuss the practical aspects of this experiment, including the choice of the selective (shaped) pulse, the phase difference of the hard and soft pulses, and the use of the z-filter. The application of the ID TOCSY pulse sequence will be illustrated by examples in oligosaccharides, peptides and mixtures in Section 3. Finally, modifications and extensions of the basic ID TOCSY experiment and their applications will be reviewed briefly in Section 4. [Pg.133]
