Small Model Mine Model 1 was hemispherical in shape, 20 inches in base diam 10 inches high which contd 45 lbs of Type 98 Expl. [Pg.490]

There is only one method available that allows the study of the vertical and lateral relationship of the different rock types of a reservoir on a scale of 1 1. This is the study of outcrops. These are areas like quarries, readouts, cliffs, mines, etc., which consist of a sequence known to be a reservoir in the vicinity or the lateral equivalent thereof. Detailed investigation of a suitable outcrop can often be used as a predictive tool to model ... [Pg.25]

The INTROS Flaw Detector is certified by the Russian State Standard Service (GOSSTANDART) as well as approved by the Russian State Mining and Technology Safety Inspection (GOSGORTECHNADZOR). It is used to inspect mining hoist and crane ropes. Fig. 5 illustrates the INTROS use at the mining hoist of an Ural ore mine. The previous model of the instrument, MDK-11 was used to inspect ropes of the air rope ways in Caucasus and Kazakhstan in 1996. Fig. 6 shows the INTROS MDK-11 inspection of 45 mm skyline rope in Almaty, Kazakhstan. [Pg.337]

Increased trust in pattern recognition The active user involvement in the data mining process can lead to a deeper understanding of the data and increases the trust in the resulting patterns. In contrast, "black box" systems often lead to a higher uncertainty, because the user usually does not know, in detail, what happened during the data analysis process. This may lead to a more difficult data interpretation and/or model prediction. [Pg.475]

The KDF filter was first tested in prototype on a coal mine in northern Germany. It was installed in parallel with existing vacuum filters and it produced filter cakes consistendy lower in moisture content by 5 to 7% than the vacuum filters. Two production models have been installed and operated on a coal mine in Belgium. The filter is controlled by a specially developed computer system this consists of two computers, one monitoring the function of the filter and all of the detection devices installed, and the other controlling the filtration process. The system allows optimization of the performance, automatic start-up or shut-down, and can be integrated into the control system of the whole coal washing plant. [Pg.406]

Today, the eapaeity of Western Mining s smelter exeeeds halfmillion tons annually and may reaeh up to 750,000 tpy with the addition of a fourth booster stage and aneillary equipment. Engineers at the smelter find the turbomaehinery availability and reliability are satisfaetory. Effieieney values of up to 91% are observed with the turboexpander models in use at dais loeation. This partieular model range offers five eomputer-generated geometries to meet the most speeifie applieation requirements, in either open or elosed designs. Impellers are east or milled to withstand erosion. [Pg.448]

To predict die capability of a flame arrester to cool hot combnstion gases, the U.S. Bnrean of Mines has developed an equilibrium model and one- and diree-dimensional transient diermal models of a flame arrester, which are nsed to predict die heat losses from die arrester and the maximum temperatures developed (Edwards 1991). [Pg.113]
