Midecamycin

Many related complexes, such as the platenomycin complex (initially YL-704) from S. platensis suhsp. malvinus have been obtained (201—206). A series designated by abbreviations (DHP, DOA) was obtained from another strain of S. platensis (207) the midecamycin complex (initially SF-837) was produced by S. mjcarojaciens (208—212) the espinomycin factors were produced by S. Jungicidicus var. espinomjceticus (213,214) the turimycin series of fifteen components, isolated from culture broths of S. hjgroscopicus are identical to other members of the leucomycin group (215). Niddamycin (42, R = H, R = butyryl) was isolated from cultures of S. djakartensis (216). [Pg.102]

Nefazodone substantially decreases the clearance rate for triazolam, which results in a 400% increase in triazolam s serum levels (131). Erythromycin can also interfere with the metabolism of triazolam, resulting in decreased clearance and increased plasma levels, possibly causing toxicity. Troleandomycin and other macrolide antibiotics, such as clarithromycin, flurithromycin, josamycin, midecamycin, or roxithromycin, also may inhibit triazolam s metabolism (132). The coadministration of itraconazoie and triazolam can produce a marked elevation of triazolam plasma levels associated with statistically significant impairment of psychomotor tests and a prolongation of other effects (e.g., amnesia, lethargy, and confusion) for hours after awakening ( 133). [Pg.238]

Figure 4 Comparison of amino acid sequences of three O-acyltransferases for macrolide antibiotics. Amino acid sequences encoded by acyA [20], mdmB (midecamycin 3-0-acetyltransferase) [21], and acyBl (carE) [15,18] are aligned according to the multialignment application program of GENETYX-MAC (Software Development Co., Tokyo, Japan). The residue number is indicated at the right end of each sequence. Identities across all three sequences are denoted by asterisks. (From Ref. 20.)...
